Update: Creator of Mayor's Fake Facebook Page Identified
Attleboro Youth Commission President Adam Tellier created a Facebook page in support of Attleboro mayoral candidate Kevin Dumas.
When Adam Tellier, the newly appointed Attleboro Youth Commission president, created a Facebook page in support of Mayor Kevin Dumas' reelection, he had no idea it would upset Dumas.
After reading about Dumas' effort to tell the community that it was a scam, Tellier deactivated the page. What he didn't realize is that his personal page clearly showed he was the one deactivating the page.
Tellier admitted to creating the page and said he'd be contacting the mayor directly to explain his actions. The high school student, who has volunteered his time at several fundraising events for the community including the Food Pantry, HEAT and Fireworks, said his action had nothing to do with the commission.
"This was solely my decision that I believed would not amount to this, considering I simply created the page and did not 'add' anyone to said page," Tellier said. "I thought nothing of the fact that it would upset the mayor or the fact that it would upset the campaign process. However, clearly, I was far from correct in regards to that assumption."
"This was a nonsense attempt to show my support for Mayor Dumas," he added.
"Adam is a very bright young man and wrote me a written apology," Dumas said. "He’s a really good person and was so apologetic.
"He’ll have a new post on the campaign," Dumas quipped.

Sarah, the only thing bullying about this article is the first comment on here from you. You seem to be threatened by any story that has a positive ending. Ever since one negative City Councilor (not naming names) seemed to mysteriously vanish from the comment section on the Patch, you seemed to come out of nowhere to take over the job of unabashed negativity. Just one click on your name shows this. This, of course, is not including the posts that have gotten removed by you or someone you offended... and there have been a lot. You should follow Adam's lead and volunteer some of your extra time as it might brighten you up a bit.

Well said Sandy! I've also noticed the the NEGATIVE CITY COUNCILORS comments seem to be M.I.A. lately.

I have gotten to know Adam over the past couple of years while helping out at the concession stand at Poncin-Hewitt baseball complex. He is an amazing young man who wants to make this city a better place for everyone. Adam volunteers alot through the city and should be commened for it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the mayor someday!

Thank You Tracie. The concession stand could not function without generous parents, like you, who graciously volunteer their time for the league! Thank you for your kind words as well! They are greatly appreciated.

The Mayor should consider taking advantage of the fact that Adam created a nice page for him and use it for the campaign. I think it's more appropriate and the results will be better than using a personal FB page (if you click on the FB link on the Mayor's campaign page it sends you to his personal FB page).

That is a good idea, but the page is already deleted. However, it is easily created again. I am simply going to wait until this hole thing is over to propose anything to the mayor.

It is GREAT to see a youth in our community doing such positive things! In a world of so much anger and hurt, this is a breath of fresh air. I bet once Mayor Dumas sees this he will be grateful for your desire to help! Keep up the great work!

Harnessing facebook as a campaign tool is a fantastic idea, and I commend Adam for his attempt to show support for the Mayor. I think the only real issue was that questions were posted to the FB page that the Mayor was not able to see/respond to since he was not aware of the page. Given the tenor of the campaign season thus far, I totally understand the Mayor and the committee's initial response, and I hope something can be worked out between the two. Keep up the good work, Adam!

Looks like someone removed Sandys & my comments (I wonder who?) Could it have been the NEGATIVE CITY COUNCILOR we were talking about? I guess the truth hurts our "INDEPENDENT VOICE" on the council.

Noticed that too, Dan. When I have commented that Sarah Wilberg shares similarities to the Ward 1 City Councilor, they get flagged rather quickly... It is almost as if she has formed a "committee" to get the posts taken down. I think it takes 15 clicks and POOF, your INDEPENDENT voice is gone. Apparantly Ward 1 (and shudder to think she is now running AT LARGE) is only allowed one INDEPENDENT voice....
