Two Seek Seekonk's Top Library Post

The candidates will be interviewed in front of the public on May 1.

Seekonk's Board of Library Trustees is considering two candidates for the job of library director. They are Peter F. Fuller, the library's interim director, and Cyndee Marcoux, director of the library in Auburn, Mass.

The trustees will interview the candidates on May 1 in the Seekonk Public Library's meeting room. Marcoux's interview will begin at 6 p.m. and Fuller will be questioned at 7 p.m. Both sessions are open to the public, although only trustees will be allowed to ask formal questions.

The public can suggest questions and topics they wish to be discussed by sending an email to seekonklibrarydirector@gmail.com by April 27. Suggestions can also be offered to Mary Ellen Siniak, senior librarian for youth services and a member of the selection committee.

"Although we can't promise that all questions will be used, we will certainly utilize suggestions in formulating our own list of questions to be asked," said Trustee Sharon Connors, according to a press release from the library.

Seekonk has been without a library director since September, when Sharon St. Hilaire suddenly died.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this story had a link to the library in Auburn, Maine. The link to the library in Auburn, Mass., where Cyndee Marcoux works, is now included.
