Town to Hold Rally for Olympic Medalist

Former Attleboro Bluefish Swim Club trainee Elizabeth Beisel will be celebrated in her hometown of North Kingstown.

There will be a big welcoming party Wednesday when Elizabeth Beisel, who won two Olympic swimming medals in London, returns to her native North Kingstown. WJAR-TV (channel 10) is organizing a homecoming rally for the Attleboro Bluefish Swim Club alumna, which will take place at North Kingstown High School at 7 p.m.

The rally will take place on the high school's athletic field, North Kingstown School Superintendent Phil Auger said. Those planning to attend the event are encouraged to wear Team Beisel T-shirts and bring signs.

Beisel, 19, won a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley and a bronze medal in the 200-meter backstroke.

North Kingstown High School is located at 150 Fairway Drive in North Kingstown.
