Soft Opening Today for Attleboro Dog Park
Let your dog run free at the new park.
The new Attleboro Dog Park on Pond Street North across the street from the animal shelter is ready for dogs today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will not be a grand opening with a ribbon cutting and political speeches; that will take place when it's warmer in April. It will be a soft opening with dogs having fun, free coffee (for the humans) and a few raffles for gift baskets and gift cards to local businesses.
"I have had so many emails asking over and over when the park will be open, so we decided that we will open it up now to the public so it can be used," wrote Attleboro Dog Park Committee co-Chair Carol Ferraro in an email to Attleboro Patch.
Dogs must be licensed and committee members will be asking for license tag numbers.
This will also be an opportunity for dog park monitors to get some hands-on training. Anyone who is comfortable with dogs and people can become a monitor. All they have to do is read and familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations, which can be found in the attached document.
Monitor sign-up forms can be found at www.attleborodogpark.com. Also on the website, you can find information on how to buy advertising space on the park fence.
