Seekonk Police: Selectman Arrested, Warrant Arrests, DUIs

Information is provided by the Seekonk Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Seekonk Police report the following recent arrests:

Michael Dennis Medieros, 49, of Warwick, R.I., was arrested on a warrant and charged with operating a vehicle with defective equipment and operating a vehicle after his license was revoked following a traffic stop on Monday, Feb. 6.

Tyesha M. Winters, 37, of Providence, R.I., was arrested on a warrant on Monday, Feb. 6.

James E. Shorts, 23, of East Providence, R.I., was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Joshua Charles Parker, 19, of Attleboro, was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Tuesday Feb. 7.

James Edwards Corpening, 66, of Rumford, R.I., was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Friday, Feb. 10.

Charles Lawrence Fontes, 37, of Pawtucket, R.I., was arrested on a warrant and charged with failing to yield at an intersection and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Friday, Feb. 10.

Timothy Huynh, 19, of Attleboro, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a vehicle following a traffic stop on Saturday, Feb. 11.

John William Whelan, 41, of Seekonk, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery on Sunday, Feb. 12. Whelan currently serves on the Seekonk Board of Selectmen.

whelan is a discrace to the town and his family and the constitution. he was the person who called the polce at the ron paul standout in seekonk 02/25/12. he nothing but a drunkerd!
