After being closed for two days due to Hurricane Sandy, the Seekonk public schools will reopen Wednesday, Board of Selectmen Chair Francis Cavaco said.
The schools had been without power, but it has been restored, Cavaco said. Power has also been restored to Town Hall, which will reopen Wednesday as well.
The National Grid website states 1,337 customers are without power in Seekonk as of Wednesday at 5:28 a.m. However, that number may not be up to date as Patch has received notice from residents that power has been restored to several areas. There is no estimated time for when power will be restored to all customers.

I would like to thank Seekonk Patch for sharing updated information regarding the status of Seekonk Public Schools. Despite our attempts to inform residents via the call alert system, emails, and telephone calls, we are grateful that you provide an additional public service notification system. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to all members of town departments who have worked diligently in the best interest of the residents of Seekonk. Regards, Arlene Bosco, Interim Superintendent
