Restaurant Week Begins Today

The program features prix-fixe menus at local restaurants in an effort to encourage residents to come out and eat.

The city wants residents this week to eat out, but keep it local during the first annual Attleboro Restaurant Week, which begins today and continues through Sunday. The event features prix-fixe dinner menus for $20 and/or two-course lunch menus for $10 at participating restaurants.

A restaurant week is not a new idea; it is something many municipalities are doing throughout Massachusetts and the rest of the country. Unlike with other versions, this one does not require a special card or for customers to register in any way. You just need to show up and request the special.

"Restaurant Week offers an extraordinary opportunity for restaurants to showcase their unique and exciting menu selections and dining environments," states a press release issued by City Councilor Jay DiLisio. "This week-long event will encourage residents to sample menus from new restaurants as well as enjoy the city's historical gems and long-time local favorites."
