Residents Take it to the Ring and Rumble [VIDEO]

Wrestlers joined together to put on a show that helped organizations raise money.

Volunteers of all ages from Power League Wrestling entered the ring to wrestle their hearts out for a good cause recently.

The wrestlers joined in the fun at the Lee's Pond Festival, this past weekend by putting on a free show.

The league, located in Pawtucket, RI and coordinated by Tom Degnan, was created as a way they give back to the community.

"Since 1994, we've helped over 50 different charities," Degnan said. "The wrestling shows are geared to fans of all ages.

"Our shows are designed to impress the everyday follower of pro wrestling, and to entertain the occasional viewer," he added. "They concentrate on the "showbiz" and "tough-talk" shows without the cursing and extreme violence."

Each of the wrestlers are committed to the mission of supporting charities and have entered the ring at a moment's notice when called upon by a charity to help out.

All of the participants have regular jobs. Brickhouse Baker, a roofer by day and wrestler by night said, "You should always have a fall back plan, when you compete in such a tough sport."

Baker sees the league as an opportunity to spend time with his two sons, David and Devin and said that he is proud of the fact that they are the only New England father/sons tag team.

The League's age range is impressive. The New England Title Match Champion Nicholas Night, 29, defeated  Canvasman Robbie Ellis, 68.  Ellis credits his ability to continue to fight to his genetics, staying fit and pure luck. Ellis said he will continue to fight as long as he is able and that will be a long time as he nearly won the match over the champion.
