Remembering 9/11

This is the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Eleven years ago today, the nation was changed forever by 19 terrorist hijackers and the people behind their plot. As we do every year on this day, our thoughts and prayers are with the nearly 3,000 people who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and their friends and family.

There are memorial services taking place today at several local churches. A remembrance ceremony will take place in Seekonk on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the public safety complex, located on 500 Taunton Ave. A remembrance event will also take place at Capron Park in Attleboro on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Share your thoughts on the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, including your memories of the day and your opinion on how our nation has changed. Please be respectful in the comments of those who lost their lives on that day and in the wars that followed as well as fellow commenters.

I have watched several times and watched again last night the movie Saint of 9/11, the very moving story of the beloved New York Fire Department chaplain who died at the World Trade Center. You will weep at the beauty of the lives that were lost. You can see this online for free: http://www.hulu.com/watch/177303?c=News-and-Information/Documentary-and-Biography
