Henry Peter Farranti Jr., 81, of Attleboro, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013
Henry Peter Farranti, Jr., 81, of South Main Street, Attleboro died on Sunday, January 6, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Nancy Irene (Lyman) Farranti to whom he was married on April 27, 1957.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on October 19, 1931, he was a son of the late Henry P. Farranti, Sr. and Hazel (Cardosi) Farranti. He was raised and educated in his native community of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and was a graduate of the former Tolman High School.
Mr. Farranti served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War era.
He was employed as a mechanical piping engineer prior to his retirement.
A resident of the City of Attleboro for the past 42 years, Mr. Farranti was a communicant of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro and more recently of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk.
He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks – Attleboro and was a member and past president of the American Society of Professional Estimators - Rhode Island Chapter. He was an ardent golfer.
For 22 years, he was a member of the Attleboro Conservation Commission.
In addition to his beloved and cherished wife, he leaves a sister: Diva Medeiros of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and several nieces, extended family members and friends.
He was the brother of the late Therese Barnes.
Public visitation has been respectfully omitted.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk with the Rev. Thomas L. Rita, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro.
