New to Attleboro RMV—Learner's Permit Tests
Locals can take the test at a more convenient location, creating a benefit for area branches that will see reduced lines.
Attleboro teens and others interested in becoming drivers will no longer have to travel far to complete the first step toward being licensed. State and local officials announced Thursday that the Massachusetts RMV's Attleboro branch now offers learner's permit tests.
RMV Registrar Rachel Kaprielian was joined by Mayor Kevin Dumas to make the announcement. They said bringing the test to Attleboro will be a convenience for locals and reduce the lines at other area branches.
"That sigh of relief you're hearing is out there in Taunton, Brockton and Milford, particularly Milford, which gets absolutely slammed during permit tests," Kaprielian said.
She added that the service is coming just before the school district's February vacation, which is a period when many teens take the permit tests.
Also speaking at the press conference was state Rep. Paul Heroux, who said "This will hopefully be one of many more services that are going to be offered."
Kaprielian would not make any guarantees, saying it's "very hard to predict" where the state will be financially and what can be done with the money.
The Attleboro RMV is located at 75 Park St. (behind City Hall and next to the police station). It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I'd be massively more impressed if Massachusetts adopted the same DUI / DWI
standards that all the other 49 states use: a FAILED breathalyzer is a mandatory conviction in 49 states. Why not here?
