Nationwide Black Friday Planned for Seekonk Walmart
Striking Walmart workers will be at the Seekonk store Friday at 1 p.m.

The Seekonk Walmart will be part of a nationwide moblization of community support for striking workers Friday at 1 p.m.
The effort is, according Mass. Jobs for Justice, to educate customers about Walmart Associates' fight for respect in the workplace.
In recent weeks, Walmart employees have been walking off the job to protest working conditions.
According to Mass. Jobs for Justice, the workers are protesting low wages, unsafe working conditions and the company's attempts to silence workers' voices on the job.
Walmart has filed a formal federal complaint with the National Labor Relations Board.
Across the country, Walmart workers have formed the Organization United for Respect at Walmart (OUR Walmart).
In Massachusetts, the effort is being coordinated by the Massachusetts Stands Up to Walmart campaign.

I do not support all reasons behind having a union but in cases like this a union is needed. Walmart needs a wake up call and needs to start listening and respecting there employees

They're forcing people who DO want to work, to work unacceptable hours and at non-OT/Holiday wages though.

I would be inclined to say that if you don't like how K-Mart runs its operation, don't work there and especially, don't shop there. But, if somehow the protest groups mentioned in the article are successful, expect higher prices at K-Mart which might, in a long run, hurt the poorest amongst us. K-Mart's bottom line has to show a profit or they go the way of Hostess Cupcakes.
Personally, I never, ever shop at K-Mart... because I don't like the way they operate. They push out competition with their low prices, expect others to pick up the health care costs for their workers, and sell a junky product.

I have to disagree with you. Since Sears bought Kmart they have become quite similar. The one, I find, that resembles Walmart is Target.

Every year on black Friday Walmart's are stampeded and I just don't get it. This year it was in Georgia for cell phones, people trampling each other like wild savages. I have no sympathy for Walmart customers or its employees. If you are crazy enough to work or shop there whatever happens to you is your own fault.
