Memorial Day Parades Coming Up

Here is a look at what is happening in Attleboro and Seekonk.

 

1. Time is moving fast, and Memorial Day is almost here. Both Seekonk and Attleboro will be hosting their annual parades. They are on different days, so you can go to both! The Seekonk parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with the route beginning at Seekonk High School and finishing at Hurley Middle School. Attleboro's parade will kick off next Monday at 10 a.m. at 2 Hodges Street, the site of the former Knights of Columbus Hall, and finish at Capron Park . Festivities will follow both parades.

2. The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club will meet at Eleven Forty Nine East Restaurant at 12:15 p.m.

3. Seekonk Human Services and Council on Aging will have knitting at 12:30 p.m.

4. Demolition of Attleboro's Old Barn  could begin today as the first step in an area revitalization project. The announcement was made at last week's Attleboro Redevelopment Authority meeting.

5. The good weather has left town. It is expected to be cloudy today with a high near 66, according to the National Weather Service. Rain and thunderstorms are possible (40 percent chance) after 5 p.m. There is a 70 percent chance of night rain. The nighttime low is expected to be around 57.
