Seekonk Boy Scout Needs Donations for Shelter

Ryan Proulx, a member of Troop 1 in Seekonk, is collecting donations for Rosie's Place, a women's shelter in Boston.

One Seekonk Boy Scout is hoping to collect canned food as well as new or slightly used women's clothing to donate to Rosie's Place in Boston.

Ryan Proulx is a member of Troop 1 Seekonk and is collecting the goods as part of his Eagle Scout project.

Proulx says his goal will be to collect 500 pounds of food and 30 jackets by the end of March.

Rosie's Place is a shelter for poor and homeless women as well as providing emergency  and long term services for those with nowhere else to go.

The donated food will go to the Rosie's Place food pantry which is specifically for women and their families who have been abused.

Proulx is also seeking donations of jackets to donate to the women for the cooler weather.
