Literacy Center Celebrates Graduates
It was graduation night for some and a celebration for others in Attleboro.
For some graduating from High School is a given, for others it can be a lost opportunity. Thanks to the commitment of the teachers, tutors and volunteers a  in Attleboro, many have been given another opportunity.Â
Nine men and women donned in green caps and gowns marced the traditional graduation march at  Thursday night. The graduates were congratulated by The Literacy Center Executive Director Joan Ricci, Mayor Kevin Dumas, Representatives Elizabeth Poirier and George Ross and Volunteer Coordinator Beth Gould.Â
Each speaker celebrated the commitment that The Literacy Center makes to it's students and to the community at large. The center also provides English as a Second Language (ESL) where the student speak only English in the classes to learn their new language. Many students received certificates of completion or promotion to the next level of understanding.
