Hungry Mother's Day Crowds Hit Local Hot Spots
Local restaurants were flooded with families on Mother's Day, say managers.

Locals love their moms - and brunch, apparently. Seekonk restaurants, including The Old Grist Mill Tavern and Chardonnay's Restaurant on Route 44 were busy with Mother's Day crowds this morning.
According to Christina Brown, an employee of the Old Grist Mill Tavern, Sunday's fare was the standard brunch consisting of beef stroganoff, minestrone soup and other specials. The crowds were expected to last until 2 p.m., brunch's closing time.
"We've been very busy," she said.
Over at Chardonnay's Restaurant, a favorite in town, locals filled tables too, according to the general manager.
Staff at Buca di Beppo, an Italian family-style restaurant on Route 6, were preparing for a surge of hungry families right before opening time at 11 p.m. According to Paul Soares, a host at the chain, reservations were made days in advance.
"We're going to be booked," he said.

We had brunch at Audry's and were very disappointed in the service. The only thing we needed the waitress for was drinks ,which we had to chase her down for. There were several empty tables from 11:30-12:30 and now I know why.
