Hess Closing Its Attleboro Gas Station

The company will instead focus on oil production and exploration.

Hess has announced it's closing its gas stations and will focus on “exploration and production,” according to media sources on Monday.

Recently, Elliott Management, one of the company’s largest shareholders, "accused the board of ‘poor oversight,’ and said that the company’s management was responsible for more than a ‘decade of failures,’” reported the Associated Press.

Hess will close its gas stations, including the one at  946 Washington St., Attleboro and focus on other parts of the business, including oil exploration and production. Many of the stations are owned by Hess rather than franchises, reported AP.

More lost jobs. Sad for the very helpful employees and yet another empty business. How shall we ever lift ourselves out of this economic despair? It must be up to us. The government has failed us all, at this time. Of the people and by the people and for the people. We can do it if we really want to see the change.

We did not do what Jack Kennedy said, "Ask not . . ." Instead, the American populace, having become accustomed to federal largess, chose to receive rather than giving. It was LBJ that federalized welfare, which poisoned out society----it
did not make it a great one.
