Frank Tells MSNBC: 'I Want to be Interim Senator'
Former Congressman Barney Frank told the "Morning Joe" Show on MSNBC he is interested in being the interim senator.
Sen. Barney Frank?
One day after watching Joseph Kennedy III take over his former congressional seat, Frank told the "Morning Joe" show on MSNBC he wants to be the interim senator if John Kerry is confirmed as secretary of state.
"A month ago, or a few weeks ago, I said I wasn't interested," said Frank Friday morning on the show. "It was kind of like you're about to graduate, and they said, 'You gotta go to summer school.' But [the fiscal cliff deal] now means that February, March and April are going to be among the most important months in American financial history."
Frank said Friday he told Gov. Deval Patrick he wanted to be the interim senator. He wouldn't be a candidate in the special election, according to Politico.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis and Vicki Kennedy, the wife of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, and former Massachusetts Supreme Court Justice Margaret Marshall have been mentioned as possible interim senators. Dukakis and Kennedy have said they aren't interested in the position.
Vicki Kennedy and Kerry are supporting Congressman Ed Markey in the special election.

Well, I suppose if the governor hasn't promised the seat to someone else, maybe he'll consider you, Mr. Frank. We've all long forgotten about your associates, Fannie-Mae and Freddie-Mac. Maybe you can add a little pork for MA to the bills as they pass through... assuming the honorable Mr. Reid allows any bills to pass through.

I see the "SELF APPOINTED MODERATOR" continues to monitor the patch. I'll light a candle for her (poor thing) at LaSalette Shrine.
