Fire Erupts at Attleboro Home

At least one person is sent to the hospital.

An apparrent gas leak caused a fire that destroyed a home on Such Drive in Attleboro's Hometown America Oakhill Mobile Home Community. A resident identified by The Sun Chronicle as Richard Beaulieu was taken to the hospital. An Attleboro firefighter was also taken to the hospital and the cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the newspaper. The fire was reported during the 7 p.m. hour.

Briana Auclair, who lives near the home, wrote on Attleboro Patch's Facebook page that the area homes were evacuated while authorities searched for a gas line so it could be shut off.

I'd like to just state for the record as the the head of Social Media and Webmaster for the Oakhill Community Residents Association that we are the Hometown America Oakhill Mobile Home Community. They are manufactured homes, not mobile homes. Mobile implies that our houses are easily moveable. Our homes are about as easy to move as a real house, and about as costly as well. We thank you for your reporting and diligence in keeping the story as accurate and up to date as possible. Dick is still in the hospital but stable and doing better today. When we have a statement from Dick and Eva we will make sure to pass it on to you. We will have information available soon on how the community can help the Beaulieu's begin to recover from this horrendous tragedy.
