City to Open Emergency Center Due to Nor'easter Threat
The center will open Wednesday morning at a "limited level."
With a potential nor'easter threatening Attleboro, city officials have decided to activate the Emergency Operations Center at a "limited level" on Wednesday at 10 a.m., Mayor Kevin Dumas wrote in a Tuesday afternoon press release
"The city of Attleboro is continuing with preparations for the potential nor’easter that may impact the Attleboro area on Wednesday, November 7, 2012," Dumas wrote. "The most recent forecast predicts 1½ inches of rain and sustained winds of 20-25 mph. Gusts of 45 mph are still possible."
He added, "The EOC will remain open until all needs of residents are met."
Residents with any storm-related issues should call the EOC at 508-223-2275. For emergencies, call 911. Those who suffer power outages should contact National Grid at 800-465-1212.
