Central Avenue Paving Begins Today
The project is expected to take three days to complete.
The paving of Central Avenue in Seekonk is expected to begin today between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., according to the Public Works Department. The schedule calls for paving of the northbound lane today, the southbound lane on Wednesday and "side street locations" on Thursday.
The town's website offers the following information :
- On Tuesday, the northbound lane will be paved. Paving will start on the Attleboro city line and progress southerly beginning at 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. depending on the weather. It is anticipated paving will progress to Pine Street by 12 p.m. Access from Pine Street will be restricted from approximately 12 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and detours will be in effect.
- On Wednesday, the southbound lane will be paved. Paving will start at the Attleboro city line and progress southerly beginning at 7 a.m. It is anticipated that paving will progress to Baker's Corner by 11:30 a.m.
- On Thursday, paving will continue at the side street locations, including Central Avenue from Foch Avenue to Baker's Corner.
The website further states,
"Access To Central Avenue will be limited from driveways and side streets during the final paving. Once the asphalt is placed, vehicular access will be restricted for approximately three hours. Property owners should make arrangements to have vehicles out of the way prior to paving. Vehicles will not be allowed onto the pavement from driveways and side streets for three hours."
