'Bearded Bandit' Suspect Identified
Justin L. Worley is expected to be arraigned today at Taunton District Court.
Seekonk police have identified the man suspected of being the "Bearded Bandit" as 33-year-old Justin L. Worley. He was arrested Wednesday at the Motel 6 in Seekonk, where authorities say he had been living. Various media reports say his girlfriend and a 3-year-old child were living at the motel with him.
Worley is a suspect in a string of bank robberies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, including one on Feb. 23 at the Bank of America on Fall River Avenue in Seekonk. The FBI has offered an award for information leading to the capture and conviction of the "Bearded Bandit," a name given to the suspect because he had a noticeable dark beard. Authorities suspect the beard was fake. Media reports say authorities found a fake beard among Worley's belongings.
He is being charged with possession of a class B drug, armed robbery and being a fugitive from justice. Worley is expected to be arraigned today at Taunton District Court.
