Back to the Drawing Board for Scenic Road Ordinance
Take a look at what's happening in Attleboro and Seekonk.
1. A proposal for preservation and protection of Attleboro's "scenic roads" was struck from the council docket Tuesday night by an 11-0 vote. Proponents of the Scenic Road Ordinance had requested the action after a negative recommendation from the Planning Board meant the council could vote to reject the measure, which is more than a decade in the making. The proponents can now produce a new proposal that can again go through the government approval pipeline.
2. Whether you're a Republican, a Democrat, a Communist or just not sure, you're hopefully watching the first presidential debate between incumbent Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney. Make sure to watch it in style by logging onto Attleboro-Seekonk Patch and participating in a live chat, which will include state Republican and Democratic officials. The chat will begin at 8:30 p.m. The debate is scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
3. Attleboro City Councilor Jay DiLisio will be holding constituent office hours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mediterranean Grill. Councilor Richard Conti will also hold office hours at 5 p.m. at 16 County St.
4. George R. Martin Elementary School in Seekonk will have a PTO meeting at 6:30 p.m.
5. The National Weather Service's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of rain, cloudy skies and a high near 69. At night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain along with cloudy skies and a low near 58.
