Attleboro Police Log: OUIs, Domestic Assaults

Thirteen arrests are reported for Aug. 24-26.

 

The Attleboro Police Department  reported the following recent arrests (an arrest does not indicate a conviction):

Aug. 24

  • *1:16 a.m. Ghalib Aziz, 24, of Attleboro was arrested at 70 Holcott Drive on suspicion of drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked for being a habitual traffic offender. He was also accused of not having the vehicle registration in his possession, a marked lanes violation and failure to stop or yield.
  • 6:34 p.m. Marvin J. Brooks, 29, of Central Falls was arrested at Bristol Place Shopping Center (1130 Newport Ave.) on suspicion of shoplifting.
  • 6:55 p.m. Hector L. Andrade, 24, of Central Falls was arrested in Randolph on a warrant. He was charged with armed robbery. Go here for more information on this story.

Aug. 25

  • 6:57 p.m. Patrick John Alger, 43, of Attleboro was arrested at 9 Dennis St. on suspicion of assault and battery (domestic). 
  • 7:24 p.m. Selvin Perez, 38, of Attleboro was arrested on Mechanic Street on suspicion of accosting/annoying a person of the opposite sex and disturbance. The alleged victim was a 13-year-old cheerleader, according to The Sun Chronicle.
  • 6:01 p.m. Thomas Paul Bannister, 44, of Attleboro was arrested at 9 Union St. on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
  • 8 p.m. Nicole Vera Bennoch, 24, of Attleboro was arrested at 26A Holman St. on suspicion of possessing a class E drug.
  • 9:22 p.m. Arthur Sojka, 62, of Attleboro was arrested on Park Street on suspicion of OUI liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was also accused of speeding.

Aug. 26

  • 1:46 a.m. Sarah Elisabeth Skwirz, 30, of Pawtucket was arrested on Bacon Street on suspicion of OUI liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She was also accused of a marked lanes violation.
  • 2:47 a.m. Michael Kenneth Wilkinson, 46, of Pawtucket was arrested on Westminster Avenue on suspicion of OUI liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
  • 12:18 p.m. David Wayne Barnes, 51, of Attleboro was arrested at his Dunham Street home on suspicion of assault and assault with a dangerous weapon.
  • 10:22 p.m. Timothy Edward Scannell, 31, of Attleboro was arrested at his Mulberry Street home on a warrant and suspicion of assault and battery (domestic) and witness intimidation. He was charged with assault and battery.
  • 10:58 p.m. Jason Thomas Patten, 22, of Attleboro was arrested at his Dunham Street home on suspicion of assault and battery (domestic).

*The time indicates when the suspect was booked at the Attleboro police station.

Geez! Perhaps we , the city, should tear down Holman and dunham St.s and make greenspace. Start creating Attleboro's own 'emerald necklace"!!!

I have a friend who lives on Dunham Street, he's a hard working man and he raised 2 smart daughters on that Street. It's a shame that the closer you get to the police station the worse it gets. With few jobs around many are selling dope and mugging people.
