Attleboro Ice Cream Ready to Open Its Doors Year-Round

The new ice cream/lemonade shop has moved into a new location on Pleasant Street.

Attleboro Ice Cream/Del's Lemonade will open its doors just in time for the summer.

Owner Paul Piatelli will hang the "OPEN" sign to welcome customers to the new 89 Pleasant St. location on Wednesday.

Piatelli, his wife and three children have been running a small Del's Lemonade stand at the corner of for seven years. The stand is take-out only and is open for business April through September. Piatelli wanted to change that by opening a small eat-in location that would be open year-round.

The Piatelli family invested $45,000 to completely renovate the old Creative Images Hair Salon, located in the same plaza as to accommodate the new business.

Piatelli is excited about the new location and said he will be offering mozzarella sticks, french fries, chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese to go along with the blade meat sandwiches he offered at the old location.

"We may offer breakfast down the road," Piatelli said.

Attleboro Ice Cream can hold 45 people and Piatelli hopes to have a constant flow of customers in the store who can sit at one of the five tables or in the captain's chairs at the counter.

While some offerings will be different, one thing will remain the same: Del's Lemonade.

The store will continue to offer its six flavors (lemon, watermelon, cherry, blueberry, lava pineapple and grapefruit) and Hershey's soft serve ice cream (chocolate, vanilla and twist).

"I was looking for somewhere close to downtown and I had my eyes on this location," Piatelli said. "The other location was small and it was hard to make a living on the six months we were open."

Along with eat-in options and being open all year, Attleboro Ice Cream is also trying something new. It has changed its hours and will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Piatelli said the later hours is a trial and he hopes to have reason to stay open until 10 p.m. each night.
